1. When you find someone that you feel that you want to get to know better, then don't be embarrassed to say yes to a date. This way you can get to know more about them and find out if your first impressions are justified.

2. If you find yourself attracted to someone and you know that they feel the same way then why not ask them out. They may be too shy to ask you which could result in the pair of you missing out on something special.

3. If you meet someone when you are out having fun with friends, again, don't be shy to set up a date with them. This way you two can go out and get to know each other better without any other distractions.

You are the only one who knows what you like in a man. Friends may say dont date him but it's your choice. Don’t be afraid to say yes if you find someone that you want to get to know better even if others tell you not to.

1. Get a reliable babysitter who you can call whenever you need them. You can't date and bring your kids. Not if you want to have a good time and keep the focus on you.

2. Date on your terms and the way you want. Many friends and relatives may offer well meaning advice when in reality you just need to make sure to do it however you are comfortable.

3. Never lie to your kids. You do not have to tell them everything, but lying about your date or what you are doing is a bad idea as well. You want a family of trust and this includes you telling the truth.

4. Don't rush your new man to get involved with your kids. He will let you know when he is ready. So will your kids let you know when they want him to be a part of their lives as well as yours.

5. Can you balance being a single mom with dating? It should always be kids first and dating second if you have to choose where to spend your time.

6. You do not have to talk about the kids all of the time. As a matter of fact it is ok to think about yourself and your date and keep the conversation about each other.

Fortunately it's not something that too many people experience in their lifetime but for a few it can be a massively difficult relationship to cope with.

Dating can be a hard thing at the best of times and, until you get to know a person really well, you have no idea of the problems or situations you may find yourself in further on down the line.

A lot of times the only problem you may come across is that you don’t like the person you are dating as much as you thought you did. However, what if you find out the man or woman that you think is right for you is actually a drug addict? What should you do if this happens?

You could just leave and let someone else deal with them. However, if you really care about the person then this is not the right thing to do. Since this person already knows you and more than likely trusts you, why not help them instead?

It might be with short, blunt answers, heavy sighs as though bothered, or with negative remarks. 

Pay attention to not only your words spoken, but also the tone in which they are spoken. 

Be positive, cheery, and respond in a way that will confirm to your mate that you are listening and truly interested - that you have time to listen and communicate. 

In addition, add terms of endearment into your conversation. Instead of "Good morning," try, "Hi honey, good morning!"

1) Smile and make eye contact: First of all, smile and be warm. Make eye contact, but don’t expect them to sustain it.

2) Don’t make sudden, threatening movements:  Avoid making sudden, threatening movements that may scare them. Don’t lean in too close. Try to give them a lot of physical space. If they tense or flinch when you lean over, you’ve crossed their line. Lean back.

3) Speak softly and slowly:  Speak softly and slowly. Make it so that they almost have to lean forward to hear you. You will appear a lot less intimidating to them.

4) Lead the conversation: Don’t expect them to carry the conversation or even participate much. You’ll have to do the leading. Lead gently until they relax and start chatting back.

1) After you come home from a date, take out a piece of paper and write down what you did well and what could be improved.

2) Pick just ONE THING out of the thing you could improve on and focus on that.

3) Put this paper in a binder and file it away somewhere safe. Every month, go back and read your previous entries. See if you have changed your opinion on how your dates went.

In time, you will find that a lot of your thoughts and assumptions may turn out to be not so accurate.
