How many of you have spent endless hours explaining to your friends that this somebody over there is just a friend? Instead of using your time wisely, you are left fighting an endless battle to prove that you are single. No one brags about being single even if they are happy to be single, so why are friends always trying to tell you who you are secretly making love to? The worst part about this whole thing is that you start believing and playing the idea that you might actually like this person because it has been driven in your head that you have this un-denying love for them. In most cases, this only leads you to be the fool who confesses his love to a friend, and then gets the ultimate denial:
"Oh, I really thought we were just friends! I'm sorry if I led you to believe there was anything more."
Unrequited love, how do you respond to such embarrassment?
"Oh, I don't know what I was thinking; that's really not what I meant to say...or is it?!"
At this point, you are lucky if you don't turn into some psychotic male/female who just can't understand why your good friend loves you but is not in love with you. There goes the weekly lunches, the funny sarcastic conversations, and now, you can finally say bye-bye relationship!
Can the two sexes really be just friends? I have a lot of beautiful intelligent female friends and they are really just friends! Of course, like any man, when my eyes are set on their physical and mental beauty, the thought of sleeping with them does cross my mind! Is that wrong? Of course not! If seventy percent of my friends are female, then having those thoughts are normal. I can respect and understand the idea of friendship and making love to a female as being two separate things. But vice versa, how many people out there can? At times, emotions do get the best of you!
